Symptom

The Office Connector toolbar is present but all of the buttons are grayed-out (disabled).

Cause 1 – No Active Workbook

In order for add-ins to be accessible in Excel, at least one workbook must be open. The Office Connector toolbar will therefore be grayed-out when no workbooks are open. Create or open a workbook and the toolbar should become enabled.

Cause 2 – Add-In Is Disabled

The Office Connector add-in can be disabled by Excel, often as a result of Excel being ended while Office Connector was doing something.
