How do I unload and load the Office Connector add-in?
Background
This is a general-purpose article that provides steps for manually loading and unloading the Office Connector add-in. The resolution for certain technical issues require the add-in to be manually loaded or unloaded, and this action may also be prescribed by technical support staff.
Steps
Unloading the Office Connector Add-In
Performing these steps will remove the Office Connector toolbar and unload the add-in from memory. While the add-in is unloaded, Office Connector worksheet functions and queries no longer function.
Excel 2000-2003
1. Click the Tools menu and then click Add-Ins
2. In the list of Add-Ins available list, uncheck the box for the Office Connector add-in.
a. For Office Connector Query and Office Connector Write, uncheck the box entitled Event 1 Office Connector
b. For Office Connector Import, uncheck the box entitled Event 1 Office Connector Import
3. Click OK
Excel 2007
1. Click the Office Button in the upper left corner
2. Click Excel Options
3. Click Add-Ins
4. Select Excel Add-ins in the Manage box
5. Click Go
6. In the list of Add-Ins available list, uncheck the box for the Office Connector add-in.
a. For Office Connector Query and Office Connector Write, uncheck the box entitled Event 1 Office Connector
b. For Office Connector Import, uncheck the box entitled Event 1 Office Connector Import
7. Click OK
Loading/Reloading the Office Connector Add-In
Performing these steps will load the Office Connector add-in, which will then create the toolbar and allow Office Connector worksheet functions and queries to be used.
Excel 2000-2003
1. Click the Tools menu and then click Add-Ins
2. Confirm that the Office Connector add-in appears in the Add-Ins available list. If the add-in does not appear in the list, follow these steps to add it.
a. Click Browse.
b. Navigate to the folder that contains the Office Connector software.
i. For Office Connector Query and Office Connector Write, this is typically \Program Files\Event 1\Office Connector
ii. For Office Connector Import, this is typically \Program Files\Event 1\Office Connector Import
c. Double-click the add-in file.
i. For Office Connector Query and Office Connector Write, the filename will be OfficeConnector.xla
ii. For Office Connector Import, the filename will be OfficeConnectorImport.xla
3. In the list of Add-Ins available list, check the box for the Office Connector add-in.
a. For Office Connector Query and Office Connector Write, check the box entitled Event 1 Office Connector
b. For Office Connector Import, check the box entitled Event 1 Office Connector Import
4. Click OK
Excel 2007
1. Click the Office Button in the upper left corner
2. Click Excel Options
3. Click Add-Ins
4. Select Excel Add-ins in the Manage box
5. Click Go
5. Click the Tools menu and then click Add-Ins
6. Confirm that the Office Connector add-in appears in the Add-Ins available list. If the add-in does not appear in the list, follow these steps to add it.
